2020 Fall Policies and Procedures

Masks/Facial Coverings: Everyone (dancers, faculty, parents etc.) will be required to wear a face mask while at the studio. This includes having dancers wear masks during class. Our policy may evolve as CDC and state of MA guidelines do. Our priority will remain to keep everyone safe, healthy and continuing to dance. We have found that the disposable surgical masks work best for dancers. Water-breaks and rest will be given to the dancers frequently to ensure they are staying safe. If a dancer needs to remove their mask for any reason, a staff member will take them to a designated area where they can remove it safely and rest.
Students must take temperature before coming to the studio. If they are displaying symptoms that could be attributed to COVID-19 (cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, unusual headache, unexplained muscle or joint pain, chills, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of smell, pink eye, fever, etc.) they are asked to stay home and attend class via ZOOM. If a dancer becomes ill during class the parent will be called immediately and asked to pick her/him up ASAP.
Studio Drop-Off Procedure:
Please do not arrive for class more than 5-10 minutes before the start of class. Parents are encouraged to drop-off/pick-up, and not linger in hallways or waiting areas, so that we have more space for our students. Parents who remain in the building must wear masks and social distance for the entire time. We ask that no more than one family member stay for each dancer. There will be a limit to the number of people allowed in our waiting areas at this time.
Our attendance desk will be placed at the bottom of our entrance stairway. Students will be checked in as they arrive and asked to apply hand sanitizer. Hands-free sanitizer dispensers will be offered in our bathrooms and hallways, and students will be asked to reapply sanitizer whenever they use the bathroom or transition from room to room for any reason.
Studio Exit Procedure:
After class is over the dancers will re-sanitize hands when exiting the studio. They will exit one at a time to the hallway, and stand 6ft away from each other in our hallway. Staff will make sure that dancers are dismissed to their parents. Please be prompt when picking up your dancer, so we may complete our cleaning procedures and welcome our next group of dancers into the studio on time. Dancers must have all items with them when they exit the studio. We will not be keeping a lost and found at this time.
After dancers enter the studio they will be assigned a social distancing square. Our studio floors have been taped and gridded to assure dancers are as spaced apart as possible. There is also a designated teacher area that has been taped-off for instructors only. Dancers will work in their gridded social distancing spaces for the majority of class time. Until further notice, no bare feet will be allowed in any dance class.
Cleaning and Sanitizing Procedures Daily and Between Classes:
After each class all teachers will wipe down any high touch surfaces with disinfectant (barres, light switches and door knobs etc.). The gridded floor areas will be cleaned with soap and water and disinfected with an FDA approved sanitizers such as Clorox, Lysol, Fulson 2, Pine Sol etc. or Force of Nature, a hospital grade non- toxic (all-natural FDA approved 99.9% germ killer) sanitizer. Medical grade HEPA Purifiers have been purchased for each studio, waiting area, and hallway.
Additional Notes: All our guideline will be continuously updated with new information from the state, CDC and OSHA. We reserve the right to offer additional safety precautions outside government guidelines to best protect our dancers, families and staff. Dancers Code of Conduct: In order to keep our dancers, families and staff safe, we are asking everyone who enters Total Eclipse Dance Studio to sign, submit and agree to the requests outlined in the document linked below. Dancers will not be permitted to take class without this document. Please sign and return the new Dancers Code Of Conduct to the studio. You may download, fill out and sign. Return them via e-mail or bring it with you on your first day of class.
